School time!
I cannot believe we are headed back to school!! Mommy went back to work on August 6 and yall went to IHI for a week. Brody, you got to go on field trips and Payton and Brecken enjoyed seeing friends.
Brody started 1st grade on August 13!! I cannot believe it. You have Mrs. Gunter as your teacher and we are so excited!! Friends in your class from last year are Cole, Daniel, Virginia, Anderson, and Makayla. You have made friends with Boubacar and Grant. The beginning of school went great for both of us! Mommy has some tough kids, but we will make it!
Payton and Brecken, you got a week home with Nana and Papa waiting for your school to start! Yall started on August 20th. Payton, you are in Ms. Maria and Ms. Anita's class and are so excited! You say you are the oldest in the school and in the big kid class! Brecken you are in Ms. Paulette and Ms. Michelle's class. By the second week, you weren't crying anymore when we dropped you off! Mommy cried the first day but that is it! I did good!
We celebrated daddy's birthday on August 17th! We went out to eat at Smitty's. We all pitched in and got daddy a new smoker/grill! I was so excited to get it for him!
Payton, you got cellulitis from a bug bite again! Your skin has an awful time with stuff like that! Brody, you started soccer and are loving it! We also went to Maddox's 1st birthday party, and Brecken you loved all the water stuff!
We are ready for a good year! I love you so much! More than you will ever know! You all make me so proud!

Summer! June and July 2018
We had lots of fun!!
Mommy and daddy went to see Jim Gaffigan. We did Pack Shack. Mommy had two weddings!
Summer started with Nana and Suan here because mommy had to do some days for work.
Then Brody and Payton did swim lessons. You both did awesome and have improved so much!!! We did this for two weeks! Brecken didn't do swim lessons, but he loves water!!! Loves baths, and pools, and the splash pad!
We celebrated daddy on Fathers Day!! We got to spoil him and show him how much we love him!
Then Nana and Papa took the kids to grandparents week in Branson. Brecken did not go, but Brody and Payton did. Yall had to go a day late because Papa had a stroke! Thankfully he is ok!!!
Yall went to Silver Dollar City, a few shows, and swam a lot. Mommy, daddy and Brecken came on Thursday and stayed the night. On Friday we all went to the Roaring River waterslide. It is so fun!! Payton - you are not a fan yet. But Brody - you loved it! From there, our family headed to cabins for camping with our life group. We stayed Friday night and most of Saturday but had to get home for church.
Then we were home for a week and then Nana and Papa came back! Mommy and daddy headed off to camp! We had a great time with our students and yall had fun with Nana and Papa!
Brecken, when I got back this week we weaned fully from nursing. :( sad day!
We got home on Monday and the next Sunday we headed out for Colorado! We went with Lolly and Peeps and Stephanie and Matt and Molly and Emery. We went to the zoo and North Pole City. We took hikes and relaxed. It was lots of fun!
The next Sunday, daddy dedicated baby Emmie to the Lord. We headed home Monday. On Wednesday, mommy headed to Missouri for a girl weekend with Nana and Lynnlee! We got massages, went shopping, and relaxed! You guys got a couple days with just daddy!
Mommy got back and the next wednesday had surgery! Sayer and Jenn came over and watched you and Mommy's surger went well.
On Friday, Brody and Payton went to stay at a friend's house so mommy could rest. Payton went to Carrigan's, and Brody went to Gunner's. Yall had so much fun!!!
On July 26, mommy and daddy celebrated 10 years of marriage!! Wahoo! We celebrated on Monday the 23th, since mommy had surgery on the 25. We walked around Crystal Bridges and went to Longhorn Steakhouse.
Brecken, you are fully walking!! Everywhere! You have about 10 teeth and say mama, dada, bye bye, more, all done, ball, hot, water, bath. Payton, you are growing and such a fun girl. We quit gymnastics and are starting dance! Brody, you are ready for first grade and growing in to a sweet young man.
I love you all so much! I had a blast with you guys this summer marking off things on our bucket list and just time with you!!

Happy 4th birthday Payton!!! You are a spunky little girl! You are sassy and love to be in charge! You are a little mama with Brecken and love to nurture him and carry him. You still fight with your brother, but hopefully that will change soon!!!
Brody finished up Kindergarten! You did it with all 3's! The best you can do. You had an adorable kinder program of going to the zoo. You were a tourist! You are excited for first grade!
Brecken - you got tubes and sleeping is already better! Your ear has drained a few times and tons of yellow gunk comes out and so I am so glad we did it!
We went to Kansas City for Aunt Lynnlee's graduation. We were there for a night and it was fun seeing everyone!
Mommy celebrated mothers day. I have the best kids ever! I got to go to Payton's school for a tea. I got lots of sweet homemade gifts. Daddy got me an instant pot!!! Yall are the best!
Mommy had a styled shoot for Embellished Weddings and we finished up school strong!
We also got a new family member! Emery Kate was born! For Memorial Day - we went to Amarillo to meet her and it was a great weekend! She is precious! Mommy and Brody had to finish school off when we got back but then summer starts!!!

You are ONE!! I cannot believe it! You are so full of life and joy! You scrunch that little nose of yours and smile and I melt.
You are not sleeping great, but I think part of that may be your ears. Hopefully when we get tubes that will get better!
You are a mama's boy - major!!! You cry if I am around and don't pick you up. Or if I have you and try to hand you off to someone, you melt down!!! I can't say I hate it. But at times, it is hard because I can't hold you 24/7. Although I would like to!
You are still nursing 3 times a day! You love you some milk. I am savoring this time with you since you are my last baby!

This has been a fun, busy month!!!
April 6th - Happy Birthday Brecken!!! Mommy took a half day off and in the afternoon we went to the Amazeum and had fun with you all afternoon! We had dinner and did a cupcake for your birthday!
On April 7th, we celebrated Brecken's birthday!!! We had a "tribal" theme birthday party at the church. We had lots of friends come and we all really enjoyed it! I cannot believe you are already a year old! You loved the cake! You kept slapping it and flinging cake every where!! This year has flown by! You felt better from your ears on your birthday but the Monday after you were hurting again. We decided to get you tubes. Your surgery was April 17 and you did awesome. There was lots of puss in your ears so it is a good thing.
Brody - you are doing awesome in school. You had your first sleepover this month because we had to get Brecken tubes. You stayed the night with Paul and Luke since you go to school together. You had fun and did awesome! You and Payton like to pick on each other, but you are a kind and loving boy!
Payton - you are doing awesome in school but you are ready to go to Ms. Maria's class! You are so excited. You had your first sleepover too and you went to Kenzie's house. They said you talked a ton at bed. Not surprised! :) You love talking!!! We also went ahead and had your birthday party April 28th because Molly's birthday is so close and we want them to have a weekend. We had a princess birthday party. You and your girlfriends dressed up and we had finger nail painting, make-up, and jewelry making. You LOVED it. We did it at the church.
Mommy had a wedding this month! It went great but I learned a lot!
Brecken - you got shots for your 1 year. :( But we spread them out. You are 24 lbs and huge! Your head is still at the 100th percentile. But your height and weight are in the 80th and 90th.

Brody - you have been taking ninja classes. You finished up your first 12 weeks (you are going to do another 12). You really like it and are really making good progress. You are getting more confident and more fine motor skills. You are doing well in kindergarten and loving it!!! We love Mrs. Shiohira!
Payton - you are doing well in Ms. Becky and Ms. Stephanies class! You love being in class with your best friends Carrigan and Kenzie. You are full of life and sass! You are hilarious and love to talk!!!
Breck - You are growing like crazy and doing new things all the time! You can stand by yourself now! You have had tons of ear infections. Well like one continuous one. We have done 4 rounds of oral antibiotics, 3 days of shots, and it still is not clearing up! We are headed to the ENT to see about tubes!
We had a fun spring break just hanging out at the house and having fun. Mommy did have to have a colonoscopy which wasn't fun, but it was all good so that is good! We went swimming, played at parks! Mommy and the kids went the first weekend of spring break to St. Louis and stayed with Aunt Lynnlee and Uncle Chris. We went to the zoo one day, went to church, and went shopping. We had lots of fun! We also won a table! Wahoo!
Mommy also went to OKC to help with a wedding. Nana and Brecken went too and daddy and papa and payton and Brody stayed in Bentonville and had a fun weekend together. Easter was on April 1, so at the end of March we did some Easter egg hunts and dyed Easter eggs. We went to the Rogers Church of the Nazarene Easter egg hunt and you kids had lots of fun!!

February 2018
This month was cray cray!!! lots happened!

We had another "snow" day this month. It "iced" and the sidewalks were too icy for everyone. Which is so silly! But whatever. So we went to High Rise and enjoyed our day together!

We enjoyed Valentines this month! Brody's Valentines said "Ahoy matey, I'm glad we're friends." Attached was a Chips Ahoy. Payton's said "You're awesomesauce". Attached was an applesauce.

Lolly and Peeps came and visited us this month. They brought Payton and box spring and mattress so you are enjoying a "high, big girl bed". They helped us with some stuff around the house, babysat, and just enjoyed being here.

Mommy and Daddy went to a concert, Carrollton, at church. This is dedication weekend at church so we were busy. The next day was dedication Sunday, but mommy had to miss because Brecken had RSV.

We had so much sickness this month!!! It started with Brecken getting pink eye on a Monday. Then Mommy and Brody having fevers and not feeling well on a Friday. Flu is TERRIBLE this year so we went to urgent care. Neither of us have strep or flu so we have to recover on our own. Then the next Friday, Payton got pink eye. That Friday Brecken got a fever. He had a bad ear infection. Then he got pink eye again. Saturday Payton got a fever and wasn't feeling well. Monday and Tuesday she had bad diarrhea. The next Thursday, he spiked a fever again. He was diagnosed with RSV and antibiotics were not working on his ears at Urgent Care. The antibiotics made him throw up so we went to the doctor that Friday. He got an antibiotic shot and inhaler for RSV. Tried antibiotics again and made him sick again on Sunday. Went back to dr on Monday and got different antibiotics. Ear infection was clearing and RSV better and new antibiotics worked. Then Aaron got pink eye. Then the next Friday Payton got a fever and not feeling well and stayed home from school. Whew! We were sick and it was not fun!

We also got to celebrate lots of birthdays! We celebrated Finley McElfresh's 4th birthday and Addison Bailey's 3rd birthday at Little Gym and Finley Lovelady's 2nd birthday at her house.

But we made it through! Thankful for our health now and doing better!

Happy New Year! Its another year and we are so excited to see what this year hold for us and our family!!

We got home from seeing family on Jan. 2. Jan 3, we cleaned and got everything put away. Mommy was off for her birthday on Jan 4, so we got to hang out, go to Target, and out to eat with friends at Smitty's Garage! A perfect day because I was with family!

We started back to school Jan 8. You all love school and are doing so well. Each of you are thriving in your environment and doing well and what you need to do.
*
We were able to get into our new church building this month! It is incredible and such a blessing from the Lord. This building is going to be used for so many things. Yall LOVE being in it and running around!

We had our first snow of the year. We got a snow day - even though it wasn't really needed. Yall "played" in it (there was not much at all) for a little bit. But it was VERY cold - which is why they actually cancelled school. We went to the church and played there for a while (rode bikes, obstacle course, etc.)

Brody started Ninja Warrior class. You were so excited to start and so giddy about it! You loved it! We are hoping this will help build some coordination and confidence in you. You have loved your first few classes!!! You also had your 100th day of school and had so much dressing up for it!

We met and Olympian at Wal-Mart which was pretty cool. They had some stuff out there to gear up for the Olympics.

Payton and Daddy had their very first date!!! Yall went to Chick-Fil-A and to get ice cream. You loved getting dressed and ready for it and having daddy all to yourself. Mommy and Brody then went on a date the next day to see The Greatest Showman with some people from our life group. You loved it and we have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop!

We got home from seeing family on Jan. 2. Jan 3, we cleaned and got everything put away. Mommy was off for her birthday on Jan 4, so we got to hang out, go to Target, and out to eat with friends at Smitty's Garage! A perfect day because I was with family!

We started back to school Jan 8. You all love school and are doing so well. Each of you are thriving in your environment and doing well and what you need to do.

We were able to get into our new church building this month! It is incredible and such a blessing from the Lord. This building is going to be used for so many things. Yall LOVE being in it and running around!

We had our first snow of the year. We got a snow day - even though it wasn't really needed. Yall "played" in it (there was not much at all) for a little bit. But it was VERY cold - which is why they actually cancelled school. We went to the church and played there for a while (rode bikes, obstacle course, etc.)

Brody started Ninja Warrior class. You were so excited to start and so giddy about it! You loved it! We are hoping this will help build some coordination and confidence in you. You have loved your first few classes!!! You also had your 100th day of school and had so much dressing up for it!

We met and Olympian at Wal-Mart which was pretty cool. They had some stuff out there to gear up for the Olympics.

Payton and Daddy had their very first date!!! Yall went to Chick-Fil-A and to get ice cream. You loved getting dressed and ready for it and having daddy all to yourself. Mommy and Brody then went on a date the next day to see The Greatest Showman with some people from our life group. You loved it and we have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop!

This month was filled with lots of good highs and fun stuff, but also some lows!
The month started out great! We enjoyed lots of fun holiday things like Elf on the Shelf with Jingle, Ice skating with our friends the Lovelady's, watching lots of Christmas movies (Yalls favorite are Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas).

On December 14th, Grandad passed away. Daddy was already in Amarillo so we traveled to OKC and met him there. This was a very sad time. We traveled to Pampa for time with family and the funeral. We love Grandad so much and will miss him greatly.

We got back to Bentonville in time for Payton to do her first Christmas program! She did so awesome!!! Brody had a Christmas party and mommy got to go to this with him. We got pictures with Santa and sent him our list.

Yall are very much siblings right now. Yall like to bicker and fight - a LOT! You pick on each other and push each others buttons. But then you also love each other a whole lot!!! We are working on getting along a lot!!

We first went to Nana and Papa's house for Christmas. We were all there together! You guys loved playing with Cooper and had a blast. We went to church on Christmas Eve, rode the motorized motorcycle outside, played games, and enjoyed our time. Aunt Lynnlee and Uncle Chris got real sick so the last day we didn't spend much time with them.

We love November and December. There is lots of fun things going on plus we get to see family!!
This month mommy got to do a styled shoot with Embellished Weddings. It was so much fun and turned out so beautifully!! Mommy and Daddy and Brecken also went on Fall Retreat with the youth group this month. You guys and Nana and Papa and Cooper got to stay in Bentonville and play all weekend. You sure did have fun and so did mommy and daddy.

This month we also got to go to Branson for the Polar Express. We went a little early this year but that is because we were going to try to go with Lolly and Peeps but there are none around them. So all that was left was in November. You guys still had lots of fun! We stayed in a hotel that night too and you guys always love that! Breck ended up sleeping with mommy and daddy! ha!

We went to Amarillo for Thanksgiving this year. We got to spend time with family, do a little shopping, and enjoy being Thankful together. It was a fun and relaxed time together. Of course someone had to get sick! It was Brecken and Brody! Strep throat for both boys!!! Both went on antibiotics!

It's fall!! We love all things fall. The cooler air, football, the smells, the fun events! And this month did not disappoint!!
Brody - you had your first field trip to the pumpkin patch this month! Mommy and daddy did not get to go but you had a lot of fun! You also got student of the month this month for Perseverance! We are so proud of you!
Payton - You are doing well in school and having lots of fun! You, mommy, and daddy all got a tummy bug this month which was not fun!!! But overall you have done well this month!
Brecken - You are growing and thriving! You had to get shots this month which is not fun at all!!! But you handled it like a champ! You are sleeping in your own bed now and doing well! You still nurse at night but sleep pretty well otherwise.
On Fall Break, we went to Hawsbill Ridge and hiked about 3 miles. You kids all did amazing. It was an all day adventure and we had so much fun!! We loved it.
This month we went to lots of football games, volleyball games, and concerts. Daddy went to OKC for a trip. We went to the pumpkin patch with our life group. This Halloween we had a circus theme! Brody was the Strong Man, Payton was a Trapeze girl, and Brecken was the Ring Leader. It was cold trick-or-treating but it was fun. We went with the Gardners and the Awka-Mensah's.

The school year is in full swing and we are busy as ever!!!
This month, we celebrated Brody turning 6 YEARS OLD! We celebrated at Chuck E Cheese this year. You invited 2 of your new school friends, Noah and Connor. You are loving school and having so much fun! You are doing really well and having no issues so far.

Payton is in gymnastics and loving it!!! You are really started to get the hang of it and getting more confident and balanced. You got "Stripe throat" this month - fun fun! Mommy also got it and a sinus infection. We did not feel good!

Brecken you are smiling, love kicking those feet, love bath time, love cuddling with mommy, and are a major mama's boy!

How is it already time to start school again?! This is a big year for us!!!
Brody starts kindergarten this year. We went to meet the teacher at Willowbrook Elementary. When mom and dad went to a meeting, Brody cried and kind of lost it while we were gone. When we came back - you were good to go! We walked you into class everyday of the week for the first week. You started on August 14. By the end of the week - you did awesome!! Your teacher is Mrs. Shiohira and we really love her and you seem to ask well. You are also in a class with your friend Cole!
Payton started Pre-school. You are in Ms. Becky and Ms. Stephanie's class. You are in class with Kenzie and Carrigan and of course Owen - your future hubby! You love your teachers and your friends. You started August 21. You got to have Nana and Papa with you the week we started back.
Brecken - you started daycare for the first time. Mommy had a really hard time. BUT I only cried the first few days. Mommy has this thing down now. You were good with it. You didn't really know the difference. :) You're teachers are Ms. Lydia and Ms. Hope.
We celebrated Daddy's birthday at Chuy's with Nana and Papa and the Bales. We celebrated the week before with Lolly and Peeps when they came to watch the kids while mommy went back to work. We went to Longhorn Steakhouse. Brody keeps informing us how long it took. :)
We also went to Pampa to celebrate Grandad turning 90 years old. We surprised everyone coming and everyone was so excited to see us!!
This month, we kind of had a scare with Brecken. Your head is very large. It is measuring about the growth chart and your fontanel is not closing as fast as Dr. Alexander would like. Because of this, you got an ultrasound. After the ultrasound, the findings were "inconclusive" and looked like there could be some fluid somewhere or something abnormal and they wanted us to get a CT scan. We heard things like "possible hydrocephalus" "shunt", etc. However, our doctor was very good and didn't overly scare us but just wanted to make sure we were taking care of everything if we needed to. So we got a CT scan. We found out on the way to Amarillo that you have Benign Enlargement of the Subarachnoid Spaces in Infancy. Basically your head grew too big, too fast and cause fluid in your head. But it is on the OUTSIDE of your brain so there are no problems! Praise the Lord!!
We have lots of first this month. It has been a good, emotional, fun month. We are so thankful for each of you and love you lots!
