Brody,
I cannot believe that 3 years ago you entered our lives! It does not seem like it has already been three years but at the same time I cannot remember a life without you! You bring so much joy to our lives little man! You are fun, energetic, stubborn, silly, handsome, and one special boy!
I want you to know that you mean so much to us. We would do anything to make sure you are happy! We will always love you, support you, and look for the best in you. We will always be here for you and you can always count on us! Nothing in this world could ever make us love you less than we do. In fact, we love you more with each passing day!
I love so much to watch you with your little sister. Seriously, you are the only one who can make her belly laugh! She already adores you. I love how protective you are of her and how sweet you are with her. You love helping with her. Thank you for being patient and for transitioning so well with your new baby sister!
You had a pirate birthday party this year. We did it a little early so everyone could come. Your friends that came were Cole, Jackson, Benson, Jasper, Sully, Paul, and Luke. We had so much fun celebrating you!!!
This year I am going to start something new. On every birthday, I am going to list reasons why I love you. With each birthday, I will list how ever many years old you are. So this year I will list 3!
1. I love your sense of humor! You don't know you are being funny but you sure are! We laugh everyday because of something you have said or done! You are one silly boy. You love to be goofy and have fun. I think you get that from your daddy!!
2. I love that you still need me. I know there will be a day when you don't need me anymore. When you can dress yourself, make your own food, drive yourself anywhere. I know those days will come all to fast so I enjoy the days that I can still be the one that takes care of these things for you. I love that you still need me and I will love it as long as I can!
3. I love your ability to adapt. You adapt so well sweet boy. From adapting to a new bed this spring so easily, to a new life with a sister, to a new class at school. Whatever it is, you do it well. I try to learn from you and allow myself to be so adaptable too!
Thank you for teaching me so much these past three years. Thank you for teaching me patience like I have never known. Thank you for showing me a love that I never knew existed until you. Thank you for showing me how to prioritze. Thank you for showing me how to have fun in every situation. Thank you for giving me a new sense of wonder and imagination. Thank you bringing me closer to Jesus. Thank you for making me a mommy on September 9, 2011 at 8:51 pm with my little 6 lb 9 oz baby boy! Thank you for being YOU! No one could ever replace my Brody Scott! You are loved, you are cherished, you are special, you are mine. I thank God everyday for that!
