March 2012 - 6 months

I cannot believe this month you are 1/2 a year old! Where has the time gone??

March 1 – 3
On Friday March 2, we went to a youth event called Live Loud at Lake Houston CON. It was about 1 hour drive there and you slept the whole time. You did great. Everyone thought you were cute and you were happy most of the time. You and mommy came home early because the event real late. We went back on Saturday and were there most of the day. You took a nap in your car seat which I wasn’t sure you would do but you did great! Saturday night we all just relaxed!!

March 4- 10
Monday you went to Jodie’s house instead of Nicole. You had a runny nose and acted like you didn’t feel well most of the day. We debated to take you to the doctor again. You had an appointment Thursday for your 6 month check up so we decided to wait. We put you in the swing Monday night to sleep and you slept great and I think that helped! You did good at the 6 month check-up. Daddy had to take you alone – mommy couldnt go because of work L You got 4 shots. You were 16.14 pounds and 26 inches long. Good growing little man!!! Mommy loved this week of school because after it ended it started Mommy’s spring break and a week off to spend with you!! We are also feeing you baby food and oatmeal and you are really starting to like it. You love fruits! You do not like vegetables so much :)

March 11 – 17
On Monday – we had a play date with some other babies and mommies. You enjoyed being around the other babies and playing in Daisy’s exersaucer. I think we are going to get you one. Tuesday – Nana stopped by on her way home to see you for a little while. She gave you some good Nana loving. Wednesday – you and daddy and mommy set out for a long ride to OKC. We went for Difabs wedding. Daddy was the best man. On Thursday we got to show you off to Laura Kessler, Dr. Shellenberger, Marty Michaelson,  and several others at SNU. Then we got to see Lolly and Peeps and Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Jared. Then we went to Michelles house and you got to meet sweet Truett! Fun day! Friday we hung out a lot with Lolly and Peeps and then we went to rehearsal dinner. You looked so cute!!! Then on Saturday we got to go to Truett’s dedication on Saturday morning which was really neat. On Saturday afternoon we went ot Difab’s wedding and you did pretty well during it. We danced at the reception and had fun!

March 18 - 24 : On Sunday we drove back to Houston. You did well in the car! You slept and when you were awake Mommy sat in the back with you and we played with your toys! This was a pretty normal week of you going to MDO and sitters (you started with your new sitter Jennifer Henry this week) and church.  Mommy did take you to the doctor Monday because your cough is still yucky, but guess what - its a virus! Friday began Mommy and Daddys' crazy, busy next 4 weeks. Daddy had Winter Jam (concerts) to go to with youth and Mommy had cheer try-outs. So Daddy brought you to my school during try-outs (and of course everyone thought you were so cute!) and you and mommy had a date night. I LOVED it! Then on Saturday, Mommy got up early to take pictures for her Cute Kids Contest. Mommy came home and we spent some time together, then Mommy and Daddy went to see Hunger Games and you enjoyed time at Jodie's.

March 25-31: Sunday was pretty normal. We went to church and relaxed that evening. Monday and Tuesday Mommy had STAAR testing - yuck! Wednesday, cheer tryouts started again and we went to church. Friday as soon as I got home from cheer Daddy left for 30 hour famine. You and Mommy had another date night!! On Saturday, you went to cheer tryouts with mommy then we headed over to 30-hour famine! Feb. 2012 - 5 Months Old

Brody,

Feb 1 – 4
The first part of this month was pretty normal! On Feb 3, Daddy went to see Josh Hamilton speak with Josh True, another youth pastor in Houston. You and Mommy had a date night. We played some. We watched t.v. and just cuddled. Mommy really enjoyed her time with you this night!! On Feb 4th, Daddy had upwards you and mommy stayed home. We enjoy our Saturday mornings just relaxing and playing.

Feb 5 – 11
On Sunday Feb. 5th, you attended your first Superbowl party with the youth group! Of course you were a hit and all the girls loved holding you! You did great!! The game was between the Patriots and the Giants. The Giants won. You are still going to Nicole’s Mondays and Wednesdays and are doing great! On Tuesday, mommy went and took pictures for someone then we went to dinner with the Stearmans. They are our interim pastor and wife while the church looks for a new pastor. Tim and Jane think you are so adorable! On Thursday Mommy had a girls night out with the life group ladies. You went with daddy to hang out with the daddy and kiddos. This was Feb 9th and your 5month birthday! I cannot believe you are already 5 months!

Feb 12 – 18
This week was pretty normal, until Tuesday. We got home Tuesday and you were coughing a little throughout the evening. I did not think much of it because you were playing normally. You seemed fine just coughing. Several times throughout Tuesday night, Daddy and I heard you coughing in the monitor and we decided to go ahead and take you to the doctor on Wednesday just to make sure you were okay since it was flu season and junk going around. So Wednesday daddy took you to Nicole’s. I checked on you several times. She said you were coughing but ok. After school on my way to get you she said you had gotten a fever. When I picked you up you looked awful You could tell you felt so bad. Your eyes were red, running nose, and coughing. I was so glad we had made the appointment Wednesday Morning. So I immediately went to Dr. Pielop’s office. We got in and you were getting worse by the minute it seemed. When they took your temperature it was 102.5 so they gave you Tylenol immediately to get it down. I got really nervous because the first nurse said she thought it sounded like Whooping cough and that is not a good think for babies to have! Dr. Pielop wasn’t there so we saw Dr. Clark. I tried describing what your cough was like because you weren’t coughing when we were in the office. He decided to give you a flu test and check your respiratory rate. When the nurse was checking it your started crying and coughing so much. I told her to please tell the doctor what it sounded like because she knew more what to listen for. Dr. Clark came in and said you had Stidor and croupe. He gave you a dose of steroid and told us to watch you closely that night and call if we had problems. I took you home and stayed home with you for church. You were so pitiful. I felt so helpless not being able to do much for you knowing you felt awful. I just wanted my baby to feel better! So we had you sleep in the swing Wednesday night to help you breathe and not cough as much and you slept pretty good for the most part. I slept on the couch in the living room with you. I stayed home on Thursday with you too. You slept almost the entire day, literally. You would wake up for no more than 30 minutes and fall back asleep. Daddy slept in the living room with you Thursday night and you stayed home with him Friday. By Friday you were almost back to yourself!! It was not a fun week with you so sick. I don’t like my baby being that sick! So glad you are better!!

Feb. 19-25
This was a pretty normal week for us. You just went to MDO and  Nicole’s. You still have a cough but are getting better and you are not like you were at all. So glad you are feeling better! We did try something new with you this week. On Feb 23 we tried rice cereal with you for the first time!! You were not a fan. You cried almost the whole time! You will get the hang of it though. We are going to do it every other day until your are 6 months old! Mommy and daddy went out on a date on Saturday. You went to Jodie’s and of course had fun!! J
