May 2012 - 8 months

Brody,

How in the world are you already 8 months old! My word, time FLIES!! You are growing and developing so fast and well!

May 1 - 4: This was a busy week for our family. We had family come in starting Wednesday and had them until Sunday. Thursday night Daddy got ordained! This is such an honor for Daddy! You will be so proud of him!! Nana and Papa watched you Thursday morning and Lolly and Peeps watched you Thursday afternoon. As soon as Mommy got off work we went to the church to set up the reception and get ready for the service. Then you went to the nursery, then we had a late reception. You were so tired and not happy by the end!! But we are so proud of Daddy! Friday Mommy took off. We got to spend the day with family! We did a little shopping. Saturday we went with Lolly and Peeps to the Battleship Texas and a monument thing (haha Mommy cant remember). You did so well and stayed so well behaved and calm. You crashed afterwards!

May 6 - 12: Sunday Mommy and Daddy got to dress up in wedding clothes for an illustration for service. I am glad i fit back into mine :) It reminded Mommy of how much she loved Daddy. We will both always be there for you buddy!!! This week was fairly normal. Just a lot of busy things happening around our lives. You went to MDO and Jennifers again. We also suprised Nana in Killeen for her birthday/Mother's day friday night and saturday! She loved it!

May 13 - 19: Daddy preached on Sunday for Senior Sunday. He did great of course!! It was a great Sunday honoring our seniors. They all love and adore you so much B!!! They all think you are so cute! :) This weekend we went to Bentonville, Arkansas. We went to see if we wanted to move there for daddy's youth pastor job. It is beautiful and a great town with great people. It will be such a great place to raise you! The students and adults there already are loving on you and we might not even move here!! Of course, everyone thinks you are a doll baby!!

May 20 - 26: This Sunday the 20th, they offered daddy the youth pastor job in Arkansas. We didnt accept yet. We wanted to pray about it. On Tuesday, we felt the Lord telling us to go so we accepted the job. You are in for your first move big boy!! We are going from Katy, Texas to Bentonville, Arkansas. You will always be a Texan though!! :) So this week began the packing process. This is tough because we have to pack but I also want time with you. We have to let you play in your walker or on the floor while we pack. NO FUN!! You are ok for a while then you start to think, NO FUN!! This will only last a few weeks big boy!

May 27 - 31: We told the students and church today that we will be leaving. It will be sad to leave them. It is sad because I will personally miss them. It also makes me sad because they all love you so much!!! I hate to take that from you! The nursery and MDO program is so great but I know the Lord will take care of us in Arkansas and give you those blessings there as well! Everyone said we could go but you had to stay :) They love you here! I mean how could you not though? This is mommy's last week of school! Yahoo!! I CANNOT WAIT to be out for summer to spend time with you love bug!!! I just love my time with you!

Milestones:
*Scooting/crawlingish: Daddy calls it bulldozing. You put your head on the ground. Then you stick your but in the head and have your feet on the ground and push yourself places and your head drags on the ground. Its kind of funny and cute. Thats how you get places on the ground!
*Pulling up: You are pulling up now on the coffee table, the bed. On Monday, mommy left you in your bed in your room and came back to you standing up getting stuff off your changing table. We also found you hanging on to the coffee table. No more leaving the room at all!!
* Teeth - your bottom two teeth started poking through while we were in Arkansas. They are slowly coming in but they are!
* Foods  - you are eating more solid foods! You love bread, avacados, peaches, strawberries (in your strainer - you sucked it down!) yogurt puffs (this month you started feeding them to yourself after daddy made you do it once on your own), green beans, carrots. You HATE peas. You had a small bite of ice cream and loved it! We have tried a sippy and you dont quite get it yet. We will get there!
*Sleep - sleeping great! You go down for naps. We just lay you down and you usually cry a few minutes but then put yourself to sleep. You go down at 730 at night and sleep great. If you wake up you usually put yourself back to sleep.
*Play - you love banging toys together. You like pots and pans, books, hangers, your blocks, musical toys, and walking and bouncing in your walker/bouncer. You like to be thrown in the air. We can get you to laugh a lot more! You giggle a lot when other kids try to make you laugh!!! Paul and Hope both had you rolling!
*Explore - you are exploring more on the floor and in your walker. You did get a taste of Mavericks bone - yuck!! you go everywhere in your walker! You love it! Anything we hold and you are near to, you try to grab. You love grabbing anything! You like to pat your hands on things.
*Size - about 22 pounds. Chunky thighs and cheeks!! 9 month clothes.
*Talk - bababa, dadada, mamama, are you common babbles.

I love you love bug and am so proud of you and always will be!!! You are so special to daddy and i!!

April 2012 - 7 months old

Brody,

How is time flying by so quickly little man! I cannot believe that you came into our lives 7 months ago. It just seems like yesterday we were bringing you home. I was talking to someone today about my birth story and it just brought back so many great memories of the day Brody Scott was born!

April 1-7: This week was pretty normal. You went to Jennifers and MDO during the day! This weekend was your very first Easter!!! Mommy had Good Friday off so it was nice for you and Mommy and Daddy to spend the day together! We went shopping at the outlet malls on Saturday and bought your some cute stuff! Then we went and took pictures in the bluebonnets - some of my favorite pictures of you!

April 8 - 14: Happy first Easter big boy!!! We went to church and celebrated that Jesus is Risen!!! We are so thankful for Him and His sacrifice for us! Then we went to Shane and Nicole's and celebrated Easter lunch with them! This week was also a pretty normal week for us! We were in town this weekend and just enjoyed time as a family together!

April 15-21: It was Shane and Nicole's last Sunday at LWN so we ate lunch with them. This week was also pretty normal. Mommy had a pep rally at her school with the cheerleaders so Mommy had a lot of practices and I hate having to be away from you in the evening. But the pep rally went well and then we got the whole weekend together!

April 22 - 30: This week was normal again: This weekend the pastor candidate from LWN came in so Daddy was busy Friday with this. We had a breakfast Saturday morning and then we got the whole day together! I love Saturdays with you!!!
