November 2014

Brody and Payton,

This has seriously been such a crazy busy month! We have had some sickness, lots of running around, traveling, seeing family, and fun!

On November 3, Payton you had to get 3 shots for your vaccinations. Poor girl - I had see you have to do that. You got your first flu shot as well (you have to get two). Brody, mommy, and daddy also all got flu shots. Sure makes you sore! Brody, you had a hard time walking for about 24 hours because it was in your leg. The next day you had a fever and had to come home from school. Poor guy!

Payton, you were 17 pounds and in the 70%ile for height, weight, and head. We are still assessing you Brody for your speech and some of your sensory issues to see if we need to get you therapy in the future to help with those. However, your speech is so much better! You talk a lot and it is getting much clearer! You like to hold your hands up and say "wait a second/give me a second".

Brody, you are having some rough bouts with temper tantrums and trying to get your way. We are working on it. Mommy is reading "Strong-Willed Child" by James Dobson. It is helping me understand you and how to handle you a little better.

We had winter retreat the second weekend in November. Payton, you went with mommy since you are still nursing. You did awesome, except for naps! You just wanted to be held for those. So I pretty much did. Lolly came to stay with you Brody. You did great and had lots of fun. Yall made cookies, and colored, and watched videos. You also enjoyed meeting Tomy.

The next weekend, Daddy went to OKC to do a college visit with Brenden at SNU. Everything went pretty well! The last time daddy left in October, it didn't go so well. You did complain of a headache Friday night during the night and you were up for about 3 hours in the night. You also complained Saturday. I gave you some Tylenol and that seemed to help. The next day you were fine.

The next week we headed to Killeen for Thanksgiving. You had lots and lots of fun playing with cousins, especially Cooper. Everyone enjoyed seeing you too Payton and loving on those sweet chunky thighs! You really started talking a whole lot on this trip. Payton, you also started baby food this month and you are doing really well with it! Good job sister. Because of the food you are only eating about 4 ounces now with the food. Something funny was Brody, you got in trouble one day for not following directions. Nana picked you up and said "What's wrong?". You then pointed to daddy and I and said, "They don't love me anymore!" Sweet boy - we do love you lots!! Sometimes learning is tough but you will thank us one day. We will NEVER stop loving you. It was pretty darn cute and funny!

We had a rough trip home. We had traffic, feedings, and potty issues, but we are thankful we made it home!We sure had fun with you two this week! You make our whole world go round. We love you more than can ever be expressed and than you will ever know. You are our little sunshines. We love you to the moon and back sweet love bugs!
