The Dub Shack: December 2012

Fun stuff we did: This month we did lots of fun stuff. The first weekend you got to go spend a whole Friday evening with Zaylee. Yall played and got to take a bath together and have dinner together! Mommy and Daddy got to go on a date while you were there. The next day we had play practice so you got to play in the gym. You LOVE running around in the gym at church. You just run around and babble and scream. You love it! And you are so darn cute when you do it! :) Then we went to the Christmas parade for a while but you started getting tired and hungry so we left.

Eating: You are still being a pretty picky eater this month. You literally live on bananas, cheese, oatmeal, applesauce, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, granola bars, yogurt and puffs. We try other stuff all the time, you just usually are not interested and push it away or say no. We will keep trying! Surely that same stuff over and over is getting boring :) You are getting better about drinking milk at school but you usually just drink it at home. You are using sippys better and drinking more often while eating. We usually do water during meals.

Sleeping: You sleep great! (Knock on wood :)) You go down about 7:45 and sleep until about 6:45 on school days and about 7:30/8 on weekends. I dont know how you know its the weekend - but I am so grateful you do! You dont really like me to rock you. You just want to be laid down and put yourself to sleep. I am thankful for this most of the time, but sometimes Mommy just wants to rock you! :)

One night we were playing and somehow your bumped your mouth and your gums were bleeding a little. When we went to clean up your gums and mouth we found that your top lip is completely attached to your gums all the way down. Meaning, that all the way down your top lip,where most people have a gap and can put the tongue between their lip and their gum, its attached to your gum. We cannot pull your top lip away from your gums. We are not really worried about it. We think that the dentist will probably be able to snip it and it will be just fine. We will take you next spring sometime. Mommy is not looking forward to that trip!

Your personality is coming out this month! You are so fun to watch and play with. You love wrestling. You LOVE music. You bob your head and wave your arms and stomp your feet. You love just walking everywhere. You squeal while you do it and its so cute. Your babbles are so cute and you babble a lot! You love being goofy and making silly face. You like to stick out your tongue too.

For the first time this month when we said no no you got really sad. Usually you get mad and throw a fit. We were in the bathroom and you were taking a bath. You were trying to stand up and we said no no. You puckered your lip and got this sad look on your face. It was so darn cute that mommy and daddy had a really hard time not laughing and smiling but we tried so you knew we meant no. You have done that several times this month.

Christmas: Christmas was fun for you this year!!! First we went to Amarillo to see Lolly and Peepsand were there from the 23rd - 28th. Here you got spoiled, of course, and got to play in the snow for the very first time! You liked it pretty well but were very cold :) Mer and grandad got you snow boots and you had a hard time walking in them at first. It was so cute! Your second time in the snow you face planted and you were mad!!! It was funny though. You enjoyed playing with Parker and MacKenzie and loved rocking in the rocking chair and riding their bike. You also loved steeping up and down on the step stool. Then we headed to Killeen and had Christmas with Nana and Papa. We were there from the 28th - Jan 1. You again got spoiled (Mommy and Daddy have know idea were to keep all your stuff now :)) and had fun with your cousins. Everyone at church loved seeing you! Then on Jan 1 we headed back to Bentonville. You did awesome in the car! I was so proud of you!!! We were very blessed this Christmas. Yes by gifts but more importantly by remembering Jesus and what he did on earth for us. I pray nightly that you will grow up to love Jesus and realize all He has done for us!!

Important things happening in your development:

1) Learning to stand up without using anything to help you

2) Signing great! You sign "more", "milk", "drink", "eat", "bath", "all done" on a regular bases. You are telling us more with your signs when you want something.

3) Saying "dog" and looking at Maverick

4) Saying "ball" when you pick up a ball

5) Saying "bath" during bath time

6) Shake your head no a lot more this month

7) Start stomping your feet really fast when you are dancing

8) A lot of head bobbing and shaking when dancing. You also flap your arms a lot. Its so cute!

9) Babble all the time! You love saying "Peco, Peco, Peco"

10) Throw a ball

11) Say Bye Bye

12) Wave several different ways

Little Brody Man - I love you so much. I am so thankful that God choose me to be your Mommy. You bring so much light and life to my life daily. I look forward everyday to getting home from work to see you!!! I would do anything for you sweetheart. I will always love, support, and pray for you!!
