November 2012 - 14 months

Brody,

Time sure does fly when you are having fun - and we are having so much fun with you!! You are growing and learning so much and so quickly! I cannot believe how much you change and learn in just a few days and weeks!

You have learned so many things this month! Here are a few things you have learned:

1. Shake your head "no"

2. Say "yea"

3. Hold up 1 finger when we ask how old you are

4. Walk really fast!

5. Pat your tummy when we ask where your tummy is

6. Pat your head when we ask where your head/hair is

7. Stick out your tongue when we ask where it is.

8. Saying "more", "finished", "drink", "eat", "bath", "milk" well in sign language and more often

9. Waving "bye- bye" well

10. Blowing kisses well

11. Saying "mamama" a lot more

12. Crawling "normal" a lot more often

13. WALKING EVERYWHERE!!!

14. Blow spit bubbles

15. When we say kiss bye bye, you blow a kiss and wave bye bye

16. You have 12 teeth!

17. Babble like crazy in the mornings and evenings

18. Play in bed while you wait for us to come get you (knock on wood :)

You love to play! You like playing with balloons. You like to go to the window and look out of it and pat the window. You love playing "come get mommy" and have mommy scare you and then "come get you". You love pushing the power button on the sound bar. You still love remotes and cell phones. You love to hit things like your drum, high chair etc. You love bath time. You like to wrestle on the floor. You are tickles in your thighs, under your arms, and your sides.

You are not eating great this month. You mainly like cheese, bananas, applesauce, and oatmeal. We can get you to eat other things on occasion (like mac and cheese) but you are not really interested in other things besides what I listed. You like your milk sometimes but sometimes you go without drinking it. You really need it to grow strong bones so I hope we can get you to drink it more soon!

You have 5 teeth coming in this month!!! And I felt another start poking through so I guess 6!! That makes your teeth count to 12!!!! It has been a rough month with drooling, nose runny, and tears as you cut these teeth. You had another one on your bottom right come in, then a back right molar, then a top right molar, then a top left molar, and lastly a bottom left molar.

You got sick again this month. Poor baby. You had fever for several days again along with coughing, sneezing, runny nose, runny eyes, and super tired. Its a virus again. I know its from daycare and I wish I could keep you home at least a few days a week to help keep you from getting sick so often. I cant though. So hopefully this will boost your immune system!

We went to Beaumont, Texas for Thanksgiving to Aunt Lynnlee and Uncle Chris' house. It was a LONG trip. We went halfway to Texarkana Tuesday night. You did not sleep well in the hotel. You knew we were right next to you so you cried a lot and wanted to be held a lot. You were up at 5:30! We went the rest of the way on Wednesday. You did ok in the car but you were sick and didnt feel great so you were a little cranky. You had a great time playing with your cousins and running around the house. You went up and down Lynnlee's back step for about an hour just talking to yourself. Naps were eh, but not great and you were up a lot the whole time we were gone because you were in the same room. You traveled back well! It was 10 hours in 1 day - a lot for a 14 month old but you were a champ!! You got back to sleeping well once we were home and you have done well since.

School is going well. They love you! You are well behaved and easy going. The other day the teachers said you made "guacamole" with your avacado! You silly boy.

You are so loved and cherished. I cannot believe that it has been 14 months since you entered my life. It has flown but been so amazing. Your daddy and I love you more than you could every imagine. We pray for you and your life daily and hope you love Jesus just like we do one day. You can do anything little man! We love you so much!!! Go get your dreams!

October 2012 - 13 months

Brody! Hey little man! This has been a great month for us!!! We have had so much fun!!!

This month you have really started taking off and walking on your own. You were walking between mommy and daddy really well but on October 15th, you realized you could walk where ever you wanted to whenever you wanted to. You started walking around the living room a little on your own. You would walk around the ottoman with your hands in the air not holding on! Mommy was so proud!! You usually walk with your hands in the air above your head. It helps keep you balanced!!! By the end of October you are walking great!!!

Lolly got to come keep you for the weekend while Mommy and Daddy went on Fall Retreat with the youth. I was very sad to leave you but you did so great and you were in great hands! You had lots of fun with Lolly and did just perfect!!!

This month you had a few sicknesses too :( You got your first yeast infection. Mommy and Daddy and daycare had to use 3 ointments and wash cloths when we changed your diaper. It took about 12 days to heal but it finally did! I felt so bad for you because you could tell it hurt you so bad and there just was not much we could do. Then on top of that you fell in the tub and got a little cut on your poor bottom. Not a fun week!

Then the last weekend in October you got a bad fever. On Thursday you ran a fever of about 99 at school so they gave you Tylenol. You were tired and kind of grumpy that night. Friday you woke up with a 104 fever and not feeling well at all. You were very sleepy and not hungry at all. Mommy took off and we took you to the dr. It was just a virus so there were not any meds we could give you :( You ran a fever until Sunday. You laid in Mommy's lap most of the 3 days either just resting or sleeping. Sunday you slept for 5 hours during the day!! Monday and Tuesday no fever but grumpy and by Halloween you were much better!

Halloween was fun! You were a golfer! We had one door get about 5 people to her door to look at you because you were so cute!! You did great! You walked some, rode in the wagon some, and were carried some! It was so much fun! :)

This month you have 6 teeth and are getting at least 1 more that we know of. We think others may be coming in because you are drooling like crazy!! You are 20.5 pounds and about 30 in long. You have also started crawling "normal" this month (on Oct. 19) and do it some. You sleep about 8 pm - 7 am. You dont eat a whole lot. Your favorites are avacado, bananas again, baked potatoes, apple cinnamon yogurt, cheese, puffs, and anything mommy makes for dinner - you like to eat what mommy and daddy eat. You are transitioning to a sippy and out of bottle. You now sleep with Mr. Giraffe and you love to cuddle with him. Usually you like us to just lay you down for naps and bedtime. You LOVE bath time. You say "mamama", "dadada", "da" for dog, "ball". You sign for milk, all finished, and more. You know were eyes are sometimes nose. You "brush" your hair. You say "ahh" when we brush your teeth. You are tickelish on your sides, legs, and armpits. You love crawling and wrestling on the floor with daddy. You love looking out and patting windows. You and Mav are becoming great friends too!

This month has been so much fun! You are growing and changing so much constantly! I love watching it! You are going to do great things for this world!! I believe in you little man!! I love you!

September 2012 - 12 months

Brody,

My sweet baby boy! How are you 1 year already!? I remember when you were born!! (Read the story here!) This year FLEW by! Brody you have brought more joy to my life this past year than I ever thought possible! You can literally make any bad day better by just hugging me and smiling at me!

Here is a recap of your 12 month!

Sept. 1 - 8: On Saturday the 1st, we met up to get you with Nana and Papa.You slept until 8 am you stinker - you never do that with mommy and daddy! :) Then we headed to the Webster Family Reunion. They all loved seeing you and playing with you. We played games, went swimming, and hung out a lot. You slept until 8 am both days on Sunday and Monday so I guess its ok you slept that long for Nana and Papa! :) You did well most of the trip back to Bentonville. You got a little anxious part way through but overall you were a trooper! This week Mommy spent a lot of time getting ready for your big birthday party! It was a normal week for you. You did come down with a cough and runny nose again. We took you to a doctor we didnt know. We couldnt get you in to see your new pediatrician here because we wanted to get you in the same day. You just have another cold which is common in babies. On Friday, Nana and Papa came in for your party. We got to eat out at Dink's with them and you enjoyed getting sugar from Nana and Papa. On Saturday the 8th, you played with Papa a lot of the morning because Mommy, Daddy, and Nana were getting your 1st Birthday party set up! We had about 35 people there! Lolly, Peeps, and Auntie Steph even got to come. It was so great having so many people there showing YOU love! You got TONS of great goodies for your birthday! For your smash cake, you didnt really get into it to much. You were not such a fan of cake. You did get some on your face though for pictures! :) That even, Nana and Papa left, but we had lots of fun with Lolly, Peeps, and Auntie Steph.

Sept. 9 - 15: Sunday, September 9th was your 1st birthday!!!!! Happy birthday little man! We dressed you up in an ADORABLE little suit and we first went to church!!! Then we had lunch at Dinks again and headed home so you could get a nap. I will say, this was one of the worst naps you have ever taken - ha. You only slept like 30 minutes then woke up and I literally had to fight and hold you down for about 30 minutes to get you back to sleep and you slept about another 1:30. Then we went to Crystal Bridges. Then we went to a playground to let you swing and slide on your birthday! You enjoyed it a lot! Then we headed to Yum Yos to get you yogurt for your birthday!! Lolly and Peeps left Monday. on Wednesday the 14th, you had your 1 year check up! You were 56% for height at 30 in and 15% for weight at 19 pounds. Average height and skinny! I must say you are very skinny! You had to get 4 shots, poor boy! I hate being there for that and having to watch you scream! But you were ok the rest of the night! The rest of the week was fun playing with toys, riding out bikes, and being a family!!

Sept 16 - 22: Overall this week was a pretty normal week. You did get sick Tuesday. You threw up 3 times and were very lethargic all morning. We went ahead and took you to the doctor. He tested for strep but it was negative. You had some kind of stomach bug. By the afternoon you were pretty much back to normal. Daddy stayed home with you - it killed mommy to be at work but thats what we decided was best for that day. Next time youre sick though - I am staying home. I dont like being away from you when you are sick!!!!

Sept. 23 - 30: Again - a pretty normal week. The 28 - 30 Mommy went on a women's retreat. It was really hard leaving you. It is the first time we have been apart since you were born. But I knew daddy would take great care of you and that you would be fine. Mommy made a menu for you and made sure everything was ready to go when I left. Daddy did such a great job taking care of you and you were having fun daddy time! Mommy had a good time to get renewed on retreat and went shopping and bought you more stuff then me or daddy! (someone is spoiled :)) Something really exciting is that on Sept 24 you took a few steps on your own!!! Now you will go back and forth between Mommy and Daddy and take a few steps but not any on your own otherwise.

Milestones/Things about you this month:

• You have 6 teeth!!!
• You give TONS of kisses!! We just say "Can I have kisses?" and you give a big open mouth kiss!
• Can give hugs
• Went through about 2 weeks this month where you ate hardly anything!!! But you started eating more again.
• All solids, all whole milk (no breastmilk anymore)
• 19 pounds
• 30 in tall
• Crawl really fast
• Walking on your own between Mommy and Daddy
• Enjoy Ice Cream, string cheese, rice, strawberries, fruit pouches, milk, oatmeal, potatoes, carrots, blueberries, mac and cheese, and lunch meat the most.
• Walk SUPER fast when holding on to someone's hand
• Sleep from about 745  - 8 until about 645/7 am.
• Put yourself to sleep. Dont really like to be rocked.
• Dance all the time
• Do a head bob and make your eyes wide often!
• Head bob to music
• Say mama, dada, bababa
• Point at mommy's eye and your eye
• Wave
• Clap
• Motions for Milk and All Done (can do more but rarely want to - usually just point)
• Like playing with Maverick
• Like being "tossed" and "flipped"
• LOVE remotes, phones, and your monitor
• Love bath time
• Tried riding our bikes with you in your seat this month and you like it!
• Dont like bananas right now
• Dont like cake much
• Like pizza
• Uses bottles at home, wont use sippy at home but you use it at school
• like to crawl on fireplace and get out the rocks
• Like patting, banging on stuff
• Like watching out the window

This has been such a fun month for us big boy!!! You bring abundant joy to our lives!!! I love you little man!!
